Robotic Colorectal Surgery with the da Vinci SP

The da Vinci SP is a new robotic platform specifically designed for single-incision surgery that might solve several shortcomings of this type surgery. Although limited data still exist on the use in colorectal surgery, available evidence suggests significant potential its application various types procedures, including right and left colectomies, rectal resection, transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME), minimally invasive (TAMIS).
